Moroccanoil Treatment Light

Let me first give you abit of background information about my hair. My hair is extremeeeeely dry and brittle, ok maybe i am exaggerating, but it is 'very' dry and brittle to say the least! After more than 6 years of straightening, colouring and killing my hair with chemicals my hair has turned from the youthful thick softness that it was, to a texture of a birds nest but thinner! XD

I am always trying to find ways of re-vitalizing my hair! Hair products that scream moisture to me are a must try! For examples all oils, and conditioners!  Yes, yes, YES!

So after seemingly getting little results from normal drug stores, I took a visit to Selfridges on Oxford Street in London to get professional advice on my hair and which products to buy.

One of the products recommended to me was the Moroccanoil treatment oil in light:
Moroccanoil Treatment Light £29.99
There are 2 versions of this oil, the normal one, and the light version. The light version is recommended for people who have fine or light coloured hair.

What it advertises on the bottle is that:
"Moroccanoil has a unique quality that instantly absorbs into the hair creating immediate shine and long term conditioning benefits without leaving a sticky residue."

What it advertises on the official website:
"Moroccanoil® Treatment Light’s versatile, nourishing and residue-free formula can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. It blends perfectly with other products and even speeds up drying time. This treatment for hair completely transforms and repairs as its formula transports lost proteins for strength; fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins for shine; and antioxidants for protection. It absorbs instantly to fill gaps in hair created by heat, styling and environmental damage."
I have been using this product for almost 4 months now and I am a third of my way into the bottle. So this bottle should last me a year! I roughly use this product 3 times a week: before washing my hair, applying to damp hair after washing, and after blow drying my hair. I have also used it before colouring my hair, as extra protection and to achieve a more even application of hair colour.

Pros:
·                Pump applicator included
·                It has a nice musky smell, like a musky talcum powder, the scent is quite strong
·                I've noticed less split ends these months
·                Absorbs easily into the hair

Cons:
·                Price!!!
·                After 4 months, I haven't noticed any considerable amount of difference to the structure of my hair (it still remains brittle)
·                Even after applying this to my hair, my hair still feels DRY (and you dont want to put too much of it on, as you will get a 'wet' look)

All in all I will not be purchasing this product again. I have not noticed any big difference in my hair these past 4 months. Not enough difference to help backup the price of this product, which is on the higher end of similar hair products. You can get this product online, I have seen some retailed at around £20.

As far as hair styling goes with Moroccanoil, the exact same shiny-non-fly-away-hair look can be created with most hair serums.

It is defiantly not worth the hype that surrounds it, just because it is sold 'exclusively' to profession hair salons you would think that this product puts itself at the top, but it certainly does not!

Product Rating- 3/10
